What a match it was yesterday! Gilly simply pulled the match away from Delhi’s clutches and with that it is only the South Indian triad that still stands in the fray. Today, the formidable Super Kings take on the rejuvenated Royal Challengers.

It will be a great irony of sorts if the Royal Challengers indeed win over the Super Kings in this one. Then, we would have two teams that finished last in the previous edition taking the first two spots this year. But that would be too difficult a task given how formidable Chennai is, and with Hayden, Morkel and Hussey among those available for selection, this should be an all too easy task for Chennai to get done with.

Chennai surely did not deserve the state they are in, considering that they won five matches on a trot and were looking virtually unbeatable. They are still close to being through to the semis (even if they lose today),since it will take more than just a big victory for Rajasthan to overtake them in the points table. It is a do or die match for the Punjab XI who must win this to make it to the semifinals. Looking forward to the Sivamani beat tonight!

The Super Kings are through to the semis. But that wouldn’t stop them from continuing with their momentum and keep winning matches. After all, a loss to KKR here would mean a huge blow to confidence and team morale. The Knight Riders gave a really tough fight to the Deccan Chargers last time and I did feel a tinge of sympathy for Brendon. Anyway, when Dada is sidelined, these things are bound to happen. May we see a formality match here.

The Super Kings are just a win away from confirming their semifinal berth. The Mumbai Indians are in a need to not give even a win away to keep their hopes alive. It’s the battle between the Master Blaster and the Captain Cool. And like it has always been throughout the tournament, it’s all about who dominates the last five overs of the match that is going to decide this one! Both teams are dear to me and I don’t want to take a pick here!

The Royal Challengers might be in a great inspired mood after Taylor’s innings in the last match. But how much of that is going to count against the Super Kings who look like nothing can stop them. Yes, the fielding sucks a bit and Dhoni’s men would be keen on improving that aspect of the game as well as they would go all out to clinch one another match…7th in a row..

Good things always come to an end. Can Rajasthan Royals make that happen to Chennai Super Kings who have now four wins in a row. Royals have the power in Yusuf to do that, especially with the bowling and fielding of Chennai looking so ordinary at present. The toss is going to be so crucial in this game. Warne and his men will surely be looking to avenge their defeat in their previous encounter.

The battle of the Royals today is followed by the battle of the Kings. Chennai clearly did not start off the season well, but now they have been doing well. Kings XI though have been intermittent in their performance and can beat any of the 7 other teams on their day. Dhoni’s injury along with Morkel’s minor injury scare could clearly dent their performance today. The Punjabi Kings definitely have an upper hand today.

One of the most exciting contests on cards is here. A rejuvenated Super Kings taking on a Deccan Chargers team that is keen to prove its mettle once again is a treat to watch. The Chennai Super Kings might be having a streak of wins here, but it is Deccan that seem to be focused to prove that its super-form in the second edition of IPL is not a fluke by any chance. Who’s winning? I think its Deccan once again!

The Delhi Daredevils are on a high after having thumped the first defeat on the Deccan Chargers for the season. The Super Kings finally got something going for them after they won their last match. The odds are still in Delhi’s favour, but with Sehwag doubtful for this match, it is still going to be a keen contest

The Rajasthan Royals are clearly coming back into groove, if their last match against Delhi Daredevils was anything to go by. Warnie has been marshaling his troops quite well now and with the lack of a stinging bowling attack from Chennai, it is going to be all too easy for the Royals. Chennai has to do something extraordinary to win back from here.
